PROFESSIONAL CATEGORIES (for soloists)

Category A from 12 to 15 years old students of conservatories
Category B from 16 and more years old students of conservatories

AMATEUR CATEGORY (for soloists and groups)

COMPETITION IN CATEGORY A and B

The competition in the category A consists of two contest rounds.

I. round: The contestant will present:

• variation of classical ballet from the mandatory elective repertoire and
• up to 4 min-choreography of modern or contemporary dance

II. round: The contestant will  present:

•  choreography from the second round  based on his own selection.

The competition in the category B consists of three contest rounds.

I. round: The contestant will present:

• training of classical dance in a group training with other participants in the presence of  a professional jury.

The training for this category will be divided according to the level of difficulty, and the competitor can choose which level to apply for.

The Level I. of training misses part of the excercice sur le pointe for girls and is based on less demanding exercises.

The Level II. of training assumes the technical ability of the dancer at the level of the last years of the conservatory.

II. round: The contestant will present:

• variation of classical ballet from the mandatory elective repertoire and
• up to 5 min-choreography of modern or contemporary dance

III. round: The contestant will  present:

•  choreography from the second round  based on his own selection.

The first round is non-public for all participants. The participant is in a training outfit. The second and the third rounds are public, they take place on the stage with costumes and festival lighting. Maximum of 10 participants will continue to the III. round.

Variations of the classic ballet are strictly solo. In the choreography of modern or contemporary dance, two dancers can compete in duets, which may be a combination of one competitor with a partner outside the competition or two contestants in one duet, each being evaluated separately.

COMPETITION IN CATEGORY C

In 2022, we are not opening the category.

INFORMATION FOR ALL CATEGORIES

The ranking of the competitors is determined by the draw, which the jury chairman performs.

The competition ends with a formal gala concert with results announcements and prizes for laureates.

ACCOMMODATION AND BOARDING

We provide and pay for accommodation for participants and their pedagogical escort in accommodation facilities in Liptovský Mikuláš 24. - 25.10.2023.
The accommodation will be near the House of Culture and therefore available within a maximum of 10 minutes. walking distance from the House of Culture.

Catering to participants is provided:

• 24 October - lunch, dinner
• 25 October - lunch

Thanks to the Fond na podporu umenia, the lunches for the contestants and their pedagogical accompaniment will be paid by the organizer. A social evening with a refreshment is ready for dancers.
